How do I login and create hosting accounts for my customers?

How do I login and create hosting accounts for my customers?

To login to WebHost Manager (WHM), use the following URL (example only):

http://www.yourdomain.com:2086/ (fast, but unsecure)
https://www.yourdomain.com:2086/ (slow, but secure)

If you cannot login to WebHost Manager, the possible causes are:

1) You entered the wrong username and password
2) Your domain has not transferred to our nameservers yet. In this situation, use your IP address to gain access. Your IP address is included in your welcome letter. Once you have this IP address goto: http://xxx.xxx.xxx:2086/ to login.
3) You do not have access to WebHost Manager. Please contact us.

How to create a New account:

Click on Create a New Account.

Note: When setting up a new domain name under "Create a New Account", always remember to UNcheck the box for the option that reads "IP" before clicking "Create". Only this way will your
accounts be correctly set-up as name-based accounts. Also note, when setting up new domains, you must not use IPs from the dropdown list unless they have been assigned to you. To request
IPs, you must drop us a support ticket. If you set up accounts on IPs not assigned to you, the accounts could quite possibly be removed without notice.

Once you have successfully created a new account, the following screen shows:

+===================================+
| New Account Info |
+===================================+
| Domain: example.com
| Ip: 222.22.22.22 (n)
| HasCgi: y

| PassWord: boo
| CpanelMod: anonymous
| HomeRoot: /home
| Quota: 50 Meg
| NameServer: ns.???.com

To access your users site based on the above settings, use:

Are there limitations to how accounts are set up?

No. As an example, let us assume you have a reseller hosting account for 3500 Mbs. You could create 2 accounts with 1750 Mbs each, or 10 accounts with 350 Mbs, or 700 accounts with 5 Mbs etc, or 50 accounts with 50 Mbs each and 10 accounts with 100 Mbs etc. Basically you can create any number of combinations as long as you stay within the limits of your own reseller account. When your account is full up, simply sign up for another new account.

Do you make backups of all accounts?

Backups are run daily, weekly and monthly. However, we would like to stress to you how important it is for you and your clients to keep local backups on your local computer or removable media. The reason for this is that there are instances where backups will run and replace your backup from the previous day. If you've changed something since then and need that backup, chances are we will not have it. So always keep backups stored locally.

Who provides technical support?

As a reseller, you will be responsible for providing general support to your customers. We will do all system administration necessary, as well as be your second line technical support engineers if you have a problem and can't answer it.

Will you handle the billing to my customers?

Nameway® does not currently get involved with your billing practices for your clients. For this reason you are free to charge any price that you wish for the services you provide, and just pay Nameway® your low reseller costs for such. A recommended billing solution many of our resellers use is www.2checkout.com or www.paypal.com

Will my clients find out about Nameway®?

Nameway® attempts to hide all mention and tracing of Nameway® for its resellers. We offer anonymous nameservers, support site, web browser control panels, manuals, server names, at no additional charge. The routing traceroute to us and the ARIN IP registration whois info, do not contact mentions of our hosting brand.

What happens if I decide to leave the Nameway® reseller program?

You are free to leave at any time. The clients you have signed up with as a Nameway® reseller, are your clients. You are free to take them with you if for any reason you decide to leave us.
 [Top]
What if one of my clients break your "acceptable usage policy" rules?

Regardless of whether a client is a retail account, or a reseller client, all violations of our TOS are treated the same. Users' sites may be suspended for violations of policy, or if extreme, or second time offenders, sites may be cancelled. Each occurance is dealt with on a case by case basis, and we try to work things out with every client.
 [Top]
What is to prevent my clients from moving directly to you?

Nameway® DOES NOT accept clientele of our resellers as direct, retail Nameway® customers. Your clients belong to you, and Nameway® will never attempt to gain their direct business. The only acception to this policy, is if the reseller is exiting the hosting business, and wants us to take over the service for his clients. The Nameway® reseller program is an integral part of the family of services offered at Nameway®, and we intend to keep our resellers healthy and growing.

Can I customize the control panel?

Yes. Nameway® provides various options for skins on the control panel. You can replace all the images in the panel that your customers will use with your own.

You can preview the themes below:

  Default Theme
Iconic   Heavy Graphics

How to choose a particular theme when creating new accounts:

Within the "Create A New Account" dialog, you can choose your control panel theme by selecting the dropdown box as shown below.

Why Can't I access my or my customers sites by IP Address?

This is because you/they are on a shared IP address. For customers to access their site, use the IP address that was given when you created your account in WebHostManager, followed by the customer username. Example: http://100.100.100/~username/ To access your customer control panel use the same IP address followed by "/cpanel". Example: http://100.100.100/cpanel/
 [Top]
Is there a root login I can use for all my user accounts?

Once your name servers are added to your account, you can use those name servers for any domain name. However, you will first need to manually enter in the name server information through the Nameway® website, to register your name servers globally.
